Our latest Parent Workshops turned 'the parents' into 'the learners' tackling their challenges! Parents were the class when staff from various year groups explained the teaching and learning through the curriculum!

The second workshop was for Years 5&6 parents. There were strategies and advice regarding times tables, written methods for subtraction, multiplication and division and 'RUCSAC'. Parents were also advised (and had the chance to look at), useful websites.

Working Hard!

Maths Workshops - January 2014

posted 16 Jan 2014, 23:26 by Sheila Bacon

A series of Workshops were arranged for parents, covering maths and literacy.
At the first of these, held for parents in Years 3&4 covered Mental Maths strategies and Problem Solving. Skills that are crucial in ALL areas of maths were explained with lots of practical activities available to 'have a go!'
(There was also plenty of staff available to help out if needed!)
Parents were also advised of useful websites that could be accessed for help with Mental Maths, and our own, which has a dedicated section on Maths Methods used at Plumberow!
Very Useful!
