Year 5 Curriculum

Tudor Day!

Year 5 pupils experienced a day in Tudor life when they participated in their Tudor Day as part of their topic work! 
Archery, the stocks, writing, a maypole and lots more, brought all their research and work in the classroom, to life!

After reading about a boy's life working on a ship in Tudor times, 
Mrs Carr's English set experienced what it might have been like to 'scrub the decks' in their English lesson!

Year 5 enjoyed their final Forest Schools Session, 
re-visiting all the skills they have learnt over 
the last 5 weeks!!

All the participants of this second group of Bikeability proved their road skills and achieved levels 1&2 Bikeability skills!  

Forest Schools - Session 5!

In their 5th Forest Schools session, Year 5 pupils were all back in the woods!
Miss Jones' class attempted to build and light their own fires but because of all the rain, their attempts failed as all the materials were so wet! However, they still enjoyed their marshmallows and chocolate biscuits around the main fire!

The Year 5 cyclists were out on the road again this week! The make (safe) turns around corners!

Forest Schools - Session 3!

Year 5 pupils whittled sticks, made and lit a fire and toasted marshmallows in their third Forest Schools session! Miss Jones' class held theirs in the woods but as the thunderstorms came, Mrs Roberts' and Mrs Carrs' classes stayed on the school field!

More Bikeability!

Plumberow were given the opportunity to hold a second group of Bikeability sessions! In the first of this second group, the pupils went through some safety checks and showed their bike riding confidence and control on the playground!
